Why is DOS so bad?

Why is DOS so bad? I keep reading all these articles about DoS attacks and I don't like it. Sure sure, everyone loves to use a mouse to move around and it's much easier to look at porn in Windows but DOS is still the quickest way to get something done on a PC.
